It's not just the elderly who rely on artificial dentures in the form of prostheses or partial dentures. At a young age, a traffic or sports accident, illness or extreme neglect of oral hygiene can mean that prostheses have to be used.
Even temporary devices that only have to be worn during a transitional period can cause problems. From a poorly made dental impression to swelling after major dental work, there are a number of reasons why dentures won't fit properly. Constant touch-ups by the dentist would be advisable, but is sometimes not possible for financial reasons. Dentures that do not fit properly are not only an aesthetic problem, but can also result in painful processes in the oral cavity.
A solution to get a grip on these difficulties are Protefix adhesive pads, which are available in packs of 30. The cushions can be individually adapted to each prosthesis size and trimmed with scissors. They are briefly dipped in warm water and applied to the moistened prosthesis. Pressure points, irritation or inflammation can be avoided by lining the teeth - the third teeth sit securely in the jaw again.
